Nothing really happens in this city: Blurring the sky (2023)
Fifth performance of the project in which I replicated the color of the sky and applied the paint onto the helium-filled white balloon. The balloon was then released with the expectation that it would float above and disappear from sight.
The documentation, in this case, videography, was planned to proceed only when the balloon is visible. When it disappears from sight, blending into the sky, the documentation pauses. When it reappears, whether from above or somewhere on the street, documentation is to be resumed.
The performance took place in my yard (1) lasted for 15 minutes, including 11 minutes and 20 seconds of painting the balloon. The color of the sky changed significantly once during this time period, requiring a remake of the paint. As a result, the balloon ended up covered with two colours (2) and two border lines between them.
When the painting was finished, the balloon turned out to be too heavy to float above (3). Documentation was therefore continued. To conclude the documentation, a needle was brought and used to pop the balloon. As the balloon disappeared from sight, that pop (4) marked the conclusion of this performance.
