This installation is inspired by an East Asian fortune-telling method that involves observing the direction of smoke from an incense stick (香). Multiple sensors are set up to measure the amount of smoke emitted from the incense stick and transmit this data to a computer, which then directs the movement of the mouse cursor.
A simple game of connecting numbers using the mouse was programmed to illustrate the opposing forces through visual forms. Players light the incense stick and then attempt to link the numbers in accordance with their fortune, resulting in strokes that convey a sense of striving.
