Wet stars scooped from the cliff of two lives

Sangwon Jo

resin, fabrics collected from the streets, paper cup, rain water
50 x 40 x 120 cm

This work portrays two scenes from the artist’s experience:
The first depicts witnessing three layers of sheer tarps draped over a homeless tent in London. The second involves the artist sinking his head into a basin full of water, initially for a rather depressing purpose, but soon noticing that water is leaking through the pushed-down basin plug.

By bridging these events through this installation, this work defines the encountering of the 'wet stars.' The first wet star seen from inside the rain-leaking tent, and the second seen by the artist through hazy breath. The stars that can only be witnessed from the cliff of life.
